Recap 3. Alumni Meetup 2024 in Nürnberg
From November 22 to 24, 2024, the third BayIND Alumni Meetup took place in the historic city of Nuremberg. A total of 45 BayIND alumni - (former) students from Bavarian universities who spent time in India for academic purposes during their studies, be it through internships, study visits or summer schools, and Indian students who completed their studies in Bavaria - came together for personal growth and networking. The topic of the meeting was "Bridging Cultures: Rhetoric and Intercultural Competence".
The meetup started with a joint dinner at the Ganesha restaurant, followed by an icebreaker session to help participants get to know each other. Afterwards, the group checked into the youth hostel next to Nuremberg’s landmark, the castle, and spent the evening in small groups in various bars.
On Saturday, the day began with breakfast, followed by the official welcome by the Bavarian-Indian Centre for Business and University Cooperation (BayIND). Next, Liza Follert from Siemens Healthineers gave an inspiring talk on “Siemens Healthineers - our 'walk' towards an inclusive culture”. After lunch, the interactive workshop "Non-verbal Communication" by Gudrun Stockmann provided the alumni with valuable interpersonal communication skills. This was followed by a presentation on the "BayIND Alumni Network - Outlook" and a group photo session. The day concluded with a traditional Bavarian dinner and networking at the restaurant "Zum Albrecht Dürer Haus."
Sunday started with breakfast and check-out, followed by a visit to “Joseph’s Innovation Lab” where the alumni participated in a “Design Dash Workshop”. After a final wrap-up session by BayIND, the productive weekend came to an end with individual departures.
Special thanks go to all participating BayIND Alumni, the speakers, and the organisers who made this third BayIND Alumni Meetup an unforgettable experience. With a successful mix of networking, personal development and cultural exchange, the event was a great success.
