BayIND at The India Advantage Summit 2019
The India Advantage Summit (TIA Summit) which happened for the 3rd time in the consecutive years took place on the 18th and 19th of July this year at Taj Westend in Bangalore, India. The summit functions as a platform for Industrialists, company representatives and various other stakeholders to discuss ideas concerning the future of “Urban Development & Society 4.0” trough “Global Partnerships”
Similar to the last year BayIND was represented at the TIA Summit by the Managing Director of BayIND, Ms. Wiebke Dörfler and the President of Hof University of Applied Sciences and Chairman of the board of BayIND, Prof Dr. Jürgen Lehmann. The talk emphasised on the BayIND’s role in strengthening the global partnerships along with work towards community building & inclusive cities.
More than 200 participated were present in the event including representatives from various countries along with spokespersons of Consul Generals: Germany, Netherlands & Switzerland American & German -Indo Chamber of Commerce. We witnessed participants contributing from various economic sectors and departments of India such as local government bodies, banks, investment sectors, multinational technology firms, urban tech start-ups, research institutions, cultural institutions and NGOs in the summit. The 2-days event featured over 30 speakers those included, international experts sharing a new and innovative perspective on ‘how to create smarter cities with right global connections?’ which could help in the designing safer and sustainably innovative cities with the right investments.
With the participation from leading multinational companies in India like: CISCO, IBM, BOSCH, the event witnessed a wide range of diverse perspectives that can take Indian cities on an accelerated path towards urban development. There was also participation from various cultural institutes and NGOs such as Goethe Institut, DON BOSCO, Sattva, etc. They discussed and explained their works in the field of inclusive cities.
International service sector experts like Fortiss GmbH Germany, TUV Rheinland, 24aLife EUROPE and AAMI Corporation, shared their success stories about the works and ideas that they were able to successfully implement in their countries.
We also witnessed the keynote speech delivered by the Principal Secretary from Urban Planning, Government of Karnataka (IAS) Dr. Shalini Rajneesh. She actively took part in the discussions from all of the start-ups and acknowledged them for their appreciable effort to innovate and deliver the best methods and practices for the development of the society. The Presence of such Government entities boosted up the confidence for young start-up to approach the government for making their products and ideas reach the masses through the right governmental support.
Companies like Wesense.ai, SECON, who are working for the managing of well-being sectors in Indian cities, spoke on topics of ‘effective city planning through AI and other effective ways’ were highly interesting to see the digitalised version of India.
TIA Summit 2019 continued to feature the most promising Start-ups such as TrashCon, AutoNxt, Quickride, Yulu bikes, etc. who have innovated brilliant ways to move to sustainable urban developments in India and possibly internationally in future.
