Meeting Home Minister and Minister for Higher Education of Karnataka

Prof. Dr Dr. H. c. Jürgen Lehmann, chairman of directors of BayIND and president of Hof University of Applied Sciences, Ms Wiebke Doerfler, managing director of BayIND, Sabitha Lorenz, Head of BayIND Science Office and Dunja Stark, BayIND discussed the various opportunities and developments in the respective states in regard of higher education cooperation with  a high level delegation of the Government of Karnataka consisting of Dr. G. Parameshwara, Minister for Home, Basavaraj Rayareddi, Minister for Higher Education, Bharat Lal Meena (I.A.S.) Additional Chief Secretary and other dignitaries from the government as well as higher education institutions.

With regard to the 10 year anniversary of the cooperation agreement between the State of Bavaria and the State of Karnataka in the next year, there is profound interest to initiate new cooperation between Karnataka and Bavaria. As a sign of Karnataka's endeavour to enhance the internationalisation of its higher education landscape, the Government of Karnataka has set up an "Overseas Centre for Foreign Students", a unique institution in India catering the needs of foreign students coming to the state for higher education.

Both sides reinforced their aspirations for further fruitful cooperation.
