Bavarian-Indian Centre explores avenues for collaboration with UGC and AICTE

To discuss future cooperation and modes of collaboration between India and Germany, the Consulate General of India in Munich organised a video conference between the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bavarian-Indian Centre for Business and University Cooperation (BayIND).

The Hightech Agenda from the Bavarian state government offers a strong foundation to deepen collaboration with India and in particular with Karnataka - the Bavarian partner state. Consul General Mr. Mohit Yadav chaired the meeting, which was the first in the series organised to compensate for the travel of an academic delegation to India. A delegation of Presidents of Bavarian Universities was to visit educational and research institutions in April 2020, but had to be cancelled due to COVID‑19 pandemic.

Together with partner organisations, BayIND will organise a series of exchange between Bavarian University presidents and the Indian regulatory bodies within the higher education sector to explore and initiate new collaborations in research and innovation.

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann, Head of the Board of Directors and President of Hof University of Applied Sciences along with Ms. Wiebke Dörfler, Managing Director of BayIND represented the Bavarian-Indian Centre. From the Indian side, the Chairperson of AICTE Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Joint Secretary Dr. Manju Singh and Joint Secretary Dr. Kapur joined the meeting.
