Science Office

In May 2013, the BayIND Science Office started its activities in India. It is set-up in Bangalore, the capital city of the Bavarian partner state Karnataka. The Science Office enhances BayIND’s existing services and activities in India. It serves as a competence and network centre and supports the university cooperation and marketing measures of Bavarian State Universities and State Universities of Applied Sciences. 

Apart from this, the Science Office acts as a contact and information centre for Indian students, PhD candidates and researchers. Information on English Bachelor and Master programmes at the various Bavarian universities, Summer Schools and international doctoral programmes can be obtained here. Further, first guidance is provided in regard to course and university selection, admission criteria, admission deadlines, funding possibilities and contact persons at the respective universities.

Membership of "German Centre for Research and Innovation - New Delhi"

Since 2013 BayIND is a member of the German Centre for Research and Innovation - New Delhi. Created as one of the Federal Foreign Office's strategic initiatives to internationalise science and research, the German Centres for Research and Innovation (previously the German Houses for Research and Innovation) encourage and facilitate academic exchange, scientific collaboration, and research & development projects, acting as an active link between government officials, policy makers and representatives of leading German institutions.

The German Centre for Research and Innovation - DWIH New Delhi was inaugurated in October 2012 and is a consortium of 15 German organisations comprising funding organisations, research centres and universities. The main objective of DWIH New Delhi is to promote the German research landscape in India, enhance existing research cooperation and strengthen ties between Indian and German academic and scientific communities.

The Bavarian-Indian Centre for Business and University Cooperation (BayIND) has been set-up in order to coordinate and promote the university cooperation between Bavaria and India. It was founded in 2008 and is supported by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts. The centre aims to intensive academic relation between India and Bavaria and supports the economy in its cooperation's with India. In addition, the centre has also been designed as a central service institution for companies (SMEs). The BayIND is located at Hof University of Applied Sciences and has its representative in Bangalore/ India.
