TOM-project: Intercultural workshop for PSG students

getting ready for Bavaria

Students of the TOM project

BayIND conducted an intercultural workshop for the PSG students in Coimbatore who are part of the “Training on the Move” (TOM) project funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Goethe-Institut New Delhi, and coordinated by BayIND.

The idea behind the TOM project is the exchange and collaboration between Indian and German vocational training institutions, a novel exchange programme between Germany and India. In 2015/2016, two German and two Indian vocational training institutions were taking part in this one year project.

The selected institutions were Gedee Technical Training Institute and PSG - Institute of Advanced Studies in Coimbatore, and in Germany the Berufsschule Rehau (field of tool engineering) and Berufsschule Kronach in Germany (in the field of mechatronics).

During the intercultural training conducted by BayIND, the PSG students learned more about the economy, politics and education system in Germany, and gained insights into German culture.

The intercultural training aimed at making the students aware of the cultural differences as well as different working culture, and to support a successful and productive time in Germany.
